The Geezers catch the sun in the herb garden.
We left our loved ones behind to go where most East Londoners fear to tread deep in the heart of Millwall country.
South of the river via The Rotherhithe tunnel to visit a great little museum. https://thebrunelmuseum.com/ .
The Brunel Museum like H’s cafe is probably one of the best kept secrets in London.
With no Hammers shirts in sight, we first paid a visit to what we think is the best Cafe in South London H’s in Neptune Street.
With the proud moto over the door …Where you know you’ve had a sandwich…
The walls are covered with pictures of Millwall players, also proudly on display is an excellent menu.
After spending a couple of hours at the museum on a guided tour with a lovely volunteer called Helen we went in search of more history.
If you visit this part of Rotherhithe don’t miss St Mary’s Church.

The communion table in the Lady Chapel and two bishop’s chairs are made from salvaged timber from the warship HMS Temeraire. The ship’s final journey to the breaker’s yard at Deptford was made famous by Turner in his painting The Fighting Temeraire, now in the National Gallery.
In the church a memorial marks the final resting place of Christopher Jones, captain of the Mayflower, which took the Pilgrim Fathers to North America in 1620.
And talking of The Mayflower The Geezers finished off a lovely day with a visit to one of the best riverside pubs in London.
