Letter sent out to Borough Leaseholders from SELA
Dear Leaseholders
Further to the April Annual General Meeting [AGM], and as requested by members, a Special General Meeting [SGM] has been scheduled for the 28 May 2014: 18:30 – 20:30, St Paul’s Old Ford, Main Hall, St Stephens Road, London E3 5JL.
The objective of which is to:
- Agree the revised Constitution for SELA’s borough wide remit
- Agree the association Code of Conduct
- Vote in a name change to better reflect the borough wide remit (closing date for emailing suggestions: 25 May 2014)
Please give due consideration to the attached documents prior to the SGM.

Two inspections are currently underway – both of which leaseholders have opportunity to contribute to.
\PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed by the Department for Communities and Local Government to conduct an inspection into allegations of fraud and maladministration within Tower Hamlets Council. This inspection has now extended to the activities of Tower Hamlets Homes and residents (tenants & leaseholders) are invited to submit information for consideration directly to the inspection team by email at: lbth.inspectors@uk.pwc.com; or by post at: London Borough of Tower Hamlets Inspectors EP4, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, 1 Embankment Place, London, WC2N 6RH.

Mazars have been appointed by the Mayors office to conduct a management audit into Tower Hamlets Homes accounts and activities. This audit is designed to establish whether THH accounts, activities and methodologies are:
- Fair/reasonable and reasonably apportioned
- Lease and legislation compliant
- Providing value for money
- Accurate and verifiable
The deadline for submitting written leaseholder observations is 25 May 2014. Submission have to be made via SELA so please email observations for inclusion by Weds, 21 May 2014 along with any supporting documentation – please keep observations concise and focused on the key facts.
