The Geezers club with financial support from Action For Bow arranged for over 100 Bow Residents of all ages to visit what is probably the best Christmas Market we have ever been to.
Architecturally, Ely Cathedral is outstanding both for its scale and stylistic details. In 672 an abbey stood on the site and parts of the present building date to 1083, it was granted cathedral status in 1109.
The Christmas market is huge covering the interior and the grounds of the Cathedral.
The geezers explored as much of Ely as time and weather allowed, checking out The Great River Ouse.
We also met some Ely locals.
Despite Storm Bert it was a great day out and put everyone in the Christmas spirit
