Roman Road Festival is coming up soon and we need you! This FREE community festival will showcase and support local talent and we need YOUR help to make it truly unique.

When is the festival?
It starts on Sunday 29th June with a day of trails and talks, followed by week of evening events, and then finishes with a street party on Sunday 6th July. Don’t forget to put it in your diary!
Why do we need you?
We are keeping things very local and are only using talent from Bow and the surrounding areas. From creating the street decorations to performing during the event, we want all our creators, performers and documenters to be local.
What we have so far!
We already have an incredible programme. Secret cinema from SCIFI London; a jam night with local music and …jams; comedy in the cab office; political debates with Oona King and John Rentoul; fascinating local tours and trails; a spoken word night featuring the well-known playwright Simon Stephens as well as young talent from Anna Fiorentini drama school; street performers and children’s activities; loads of local bands; origami lessons; Bow pub quiz night; a big Saturday Night Out on The Roman, and much ,much more. What do you we need from you?
We’ve got a few specific opportunities that we need to fill. Can you help?
· Magicians and escapologists
· Circus performers
· Street artists and stylers to help dress up the road in Carnival colours
· Street decoration makers (we have an idea that needs recycled plastic, bottles, scissors and paint)
· Suffragettes tour guide leader
· Photographer to document the events
· Film maker to document the events
· Bloggers to blog about the events
· Folk/blues/jazz singers
· Cellist player for a solo recital
· A compere for our music stage
· A comedian
This is a great opportunity to get involved with your local community, help do something to improve your neighbourhood, get some amazing publicity for your talent, meet a new crowd of people on your doorstep and have a lot of fun.
