I see that the temporary theatre near Pudding Mill Lane DLR is nearing completion. It was designed by Stufish Entertainment Architects and has planning permission to stay on the site in Barbers Road for five years. The theatre is designed to be demountable so it can be dismantled and moved to another location.
ABBA Voyage (Nov 2021) is a new album of songs by ABBA, who last recorded together 40 years ago. The East London show will feature virtual avatars of the band as they looked in 1977. The band members, who are now in their 70s, performed wearing motion capture suits and were filmed with 160 cameras. Visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, brought the realistic avatars to life.
The 3,000 capacity venue will offer seating, a dance floor, and private dance booths.
