Report for Financial Year 2021-2022
Action for Bow was established as a registered charity (1104269) in 2004 by the former Tower Hamlets Housing Action Trust and since then has been making grants to support many activities in Bow East and West Wards including education, training and employment opportunities; healthy living, sports and cultural activities; environmental and regeneration issues.
2021-2022 was still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and a number of organisations had been unable to provide the projects for which grants totalling £139,319 had previously been approved. It is very much hoped that these, and others, will be successful delivered in 2022-2023.
Of the eight organisations that had been able to operate, the Bow Food Bank received the largest grant of £30,000 to continue support for its very important service for vulnerable residents. Ten other organisations received a total of £75,445 predominantly for the provision of activities for young people.

Trustees: All grants are allocated up to three times a year by the voluntary Trustees, who in 2021-22 were Sheila Drew Smith (Chair), Jackie Odunoye, Janet Ludlow and Councillor Marc Francis.
