Tower Hamlets Community Transport (THCT) are advertising for a Customer Services and Projects Officer. THCT manages an accessible transport service for community and voluntary organisations. Their service connects communities, enhances well being and counters social isolation.
Customer Service & Projects Officer NJC Scale 5 £23,658 (including London Weighting) pro rata for c. 17.5 hours a week. Fixed term 12 months initially.
As well as continually improving their current services THCT are developing new initiatives such as an online marketplace project (which this post specifically supports), an enhanced training programme and other community projects.
They require a dynamic, customer-focussed person to join them to support their developing organisation.
You will have current IT skills and knowledge of the online world as this is a key focus of this post. You will have great people skills both in person and on the phone, be well organised and able to work across different projects.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
JOB TASKS
GENERAL
1. Assist customers to register and arrange vehicle and journey bookings, online and by telephone.
2. Provide back office support to a developing online portal, dealing with enquiries, monitoring use and feeding back to the development team.
3. Co-ordination of vehicle and office diaries and job sheets, in liaison with THCT team.
4. Implement systems to convert manual procedures to digital.
5. Assist with administration of training courses including taking enquiries, issuing joining instructions, registration and evaluation.
6. Ensure that monitoring information such as registers of attendance, sign in sheets, are being collected and collate this information
7. Assist with research and the collection of participant feedback, photos, case studies etc.
8. Assist with the monitoring of health & safety and quality management procedures such as risk assessment & licence checking.
9. Assist with the planning and running of events and excursions 10. Deputise for finance and operations team members in their absence 11. Other duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Proven IT skills and knowledge including MS Office, and cloud based applications
2. An understanding of the online world and applications sufficient to quickly learn new applications, explain them to others and feedback on their development.
3. Proven good communication skills on telephone, face to face and internet, including with people who do not use IT and from different backgrounds.
4. Capable of being assertive, self motivated and seeing tasks through with minimal supervision. 5. Good organisational skills, proven accurate administration and data management. 6. Demonstrable good standard Maths & English (written and verbal). 7. Able to work as part of a team and across different projects and disciplines.
8. Knowledge or experience of one or more of the following areas is desirable:
monitoring and evaluation in the VCS or public sector administration in transport/ logistics or something comparable
SAGE and/ or other digital business tools
The post will be mainly office based with a potential occasional outreach with passengers on our minibuses. (our office is accessible and adjustments will be made for people who have mobility difficulties)
